Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a global leader manufacturing products for the nuclear industry.
They have upcoming projects with the nuclear fuel handling group where
Mechanical Engineers are required.
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the product engineering of NFH (Nuclear Fuel
Handling)systems mechanical equipment and other products within the NFH business
scope in accordance with the objectives, plans and policies of the unit. The
product engineering encompasses design and/or analysis of equipment, drafting,
and support and liaison during supply, installation and operation of equipment
and systems.
Specifically:
Provides independent execution of design and/or analysis of complex equipment
and systems from concept to issue of final engineering documents.
Provide customer and supplier liaison to ensure understanding of the
requirements, philosophies and limitations of the equipment including timely
preparation or approval of design documentation, technical specifications,
special standards, development and test plans, and engineering quotations
requests and purchase requisitions.
Produce designs which are practical, ingenious and economic in accordance with
project and unit schedules and priorities.
Perform analytical work to confirm and qualify design arrangements, to establish
the material properties required and to provide compliance with jurisdictional
and safety requirements. ASME Boiler and pressure Vessel Code knowledge and
application experience.
Maintain close liaison with drafting, I&C and software engineering and
manufacturing using clear instructions on technical requirements to ensure that
detailed design is appropriate and manufacturable.
Support purchasing and quality assurance personnel throughout supply of the
equipment.
Knowledge and experience in process piping according to B31.1 an asset.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Degree in Mechanical Engineering and membership in
PEO(licensed P.ENG or eligible). Minimum of five years in mechanical
engineering practice with demonstrated design and analytical skills. MUST HAVE
MACHINE DESIGN EXPERIENCE (i.e. material handling or automated machines)
Experience in Nuclear Fuel Handling is an asset.
Stress analysis (ANSYS preferabl | ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR
Our client located in the kawartha Lakes is currently looking to hire for the above position.
Ideally a semi-retired candidate looking to work full time for a period of around 1 to 2 years and then perhaps continue on a part time basis would be ideal.
The position is in a manufacturing environment and experience within that industry is essential.

Sound understanding and working knowledge in procurement of materials, inventory control and logistics
Experience with MRP/ERP
Strong oral and written communications skills

Able to work in a fast paced environment
Able to act in a professional manner in all internal and external business relations
Manage, train and supervise support staff.
